Let it Snow!

We loved watching the snow fall; I could hardly believe it! Of course living in Lubbock, we were able to enjoy snow. Also, we were so close to NM where there was LOTS of snow! Enjoy the video. It was even more beautiful in person and the kids had a blast playing on the golf course! I also included some pictures from our last trip to Sante Fe, NM in early February 2008.

Zion's First 6 Months

I was going through iPhoto and realized that I have so few pictures of Zion printed out! The girls I so faithfully had their pictures taken their first year of life, but with Zion I think I got 4 maybe 5 of his months. So I decided to dedicate this post to him. My sweet precious little man. Little Z. Z Boy Z bird. The Shang (ask Ellie what it means). I hope you enjoy the pictures. He turned 18 months on Jan. 4th and he is definitely showing off all his boyness. Hopefully updates to come of his progress!

The Mosquito Saga

Yay! Zion's eye is almost completely better. Still a little redness underneath, but the swelling is virtually gone. My poor little boy unfortunately received another bite on the back of his neck that swelled some, but was not as disconcerting as his eye swelling shut! He bravely continued to play with only an occasional swat at the back of his neck. Enjoy the pictures and be thankful if you didn't have to witness it in person, because it looked painful and it made your heart hurt for him. Although if you were to ask him, he would say "hmmhmmhmm hmmmmhmmm" with maybe a hand sign thrown in to confuse you (which translated means: "Leave me alone, it will get better!")

Thanksgiving 2008

I have so much to be thankful for: family, friends, health and God's abundant grace, mercy, peace, and well, everything!

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving at my mom's house in Sulphur, LA. Her house was overflowing with family. The kids were running, screaming, dancing with scarves and providing great entertainment for us all. Sadly, Bailey (my niece) was suffering with an ear infection and Zion was attacked by a vicious LA mosquito. All jokes aside about him being a Rocky Balboa , his eye really did look pretty bad (still looks a little rough, but getting better).

Joanna, Chad, Chipper, Alexis, and Bailey came in from DeRidder. Aunt Geri and Ricky came in from Slidell. Uncle Tony and Mia travelled from Lake Charles. Aunt Katsie and Uncle Marcelo along with Aunt Desiree, DeeDee, and Becca came from Sulphur. Brandy and Patrick flew in from Florida. Uncle Matt, Aunt Debbie and Katelyn came from Moss Bluff. And Nanny and Paw Paw came from next door. Aunt Carole, Uncle James, Josh and Jake even popped in on their way home to Houston.

We just arrived home and it feels so good to be home. Visiting is great, but there is no place like home. Plus, I made sure to clean before we left so it truly was a welcome sight. Yay, we still have Saturday to rest and recuperate from all the festivities.
